Submit to Ghostland: Rebirth
Deadline: July 12th, 2018
Fated to die a thousand deaths, only to be reborn again. This evening we experience life from both sides of the coin. Greet us in the womb, meet us on the outer edge.
Ghostland is in search of the lost souls that are perpetually finding themselves shipwrecked time and again. We require those with the ability to breathe life back into dead ends. Come tell your stories, share your words from the void in a 10-15 minute performance piece.
Ghostland is a bimonthly performance based literary series with revolving themes, hosted by Ophelia Darkly and Jen Scholten. The event, Ghostland: Rebirth, will take place the evening of August 19th, 2018 at The Crush Bar.
What’s Unique About Ghostland?
All writers will be paid for their performances.
The purpose of this series is to fill a void that currently exists in the Portland literary realm. As writers and artists, it has been difficult to find literary reading spaces and events consistently devoted to curating specific, themed readings that manage to effectively speak to the shared subjective experience. We would like to be able to provide this outlet for other writers in the community, and also, for an audience seeking a thoughtful engagement with like-minded peers.
We are looking specifically for literary works that fit the theme of Rebirth and incorporate elements of performance art. Each performer will be given 10-15 minutes on stage.
We are open to accepting works in progress, as well as completed works, but suggest that you submit both written and visual components (video/audio/media) with the subject title “Ghostland: Rebirth - Submission - Your Name” to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than July 12th, 2018.
The venue requires all performers to be 21+.
