Submit to Ghostland
Deadline: April 29th, 2018
On this night, our eyes and ears travel to foreign lands, on the back of nightmarish-creatures, in search of tell-tale hearts. May wonka-land dayscapes carry you through abysmal earth-spaces that exist along the meridian time rift of your dreams.
Ghostland is looking for writers willing to participate in a 10-15 minute retelling of their most profound dreamscapes; teeth-falling-out nightmarists please apply.
Ghostland is a bimonthly performance based literary series with revolving themes, hosted by Ophelia Darkly and Jen Scholten. The event, Ghostland: Dreams, will take place the evening of May 20th, 2018 at The Crush Bar.
What’s Unique About Ghostland?
All writers will be paid for their performances.
The purpose of this series is to fill a void that currently exists in the Portland literary realm. As writers and artists, it has been difficult to find literary reading spaces and events consistently devoted to curating specific, themed readings that manage to effectively speak to the shared subjective experience. We would like to be able to provide this outlet for other writers in the community, and also, for an audience seeking a thoughtful engagement with like-minded peers.
We are looking specifically for literary works that fit the theme of Dreams and incorporate elements of performance art. Each performer will be given 10-15 minutes on stage.
We are open to accepting works in progress, as well as completed works, but suggest that you submit both written and visual components (video/audio/media) with the subject title “Ghostland: Dreams - Submission - Your Name” to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 29th.
The venue requires all performers to be 21+.
